Once
you leave the farm there are a wealth of places to visit and things
to do. In the village of Gotherington (only a mile away) there is
the local shop for your convenience while riding stables and the
local pub are there at your leisure.
Cleeve Hill (a short walk over our hill
or ten minute drive round) is the highest in the Cotswolds and allows
breathtaking views of the countryside from Cheltenham, to Tewkesbury
and beyond.
Here you can play golf or simply enjoy
the invigorating air and walks. To the east is the ancient Saxon
town of Winchcombe, with its sleepy winding backstreets and welcoming
coffee and antique shops, restaurants and inns. Whilst in Winchcombe
you must also visit Sudeley Castle, once home to Catharine Parr,
wife of Henry VIII.
A
little further afield are other well-known villages such as Broadway.
Bourton-on-the-Water. Stow-on-the-Wold and the Slaughters, all within
thirty minutes drive.
To the south-west is the historic town
of Cheltenham Spa boasting its numerous festivals, exquisite gardens,
tree-lined Promenade, and fashionable shopping arcades. It is the
perfect place to lose oneself for the day and of course the famous
National Hunt racecourse provides more than enough excitement for
anyone.
Slightly
further afield (but still less than an hour away) are very memorable
day-outs such as the Gloucester Docks, Hidcote Gardens. Wye Valley,
Forest of Dean, Malvern Hills. Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon Pardon
Hill Farm is a five miles, from Cheltenham, and three miles from
Winchcombe.
We are also only six miles from Junction
9 of the M5 and less than an hour from Oxford and Worcester. So
whatever brings you here, we hope that your stay will be a very
enjoyable and memorable one.
